GHANA TO BE MADE AN AVIATION HUB – GHANA AIRPORTS COMPANY MD

New Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company, John Attafuah says his immediate priority is to focus on making Ghana the hub for aviation business in West Africa.
The former Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) was nominated as MD for the Airports Company and approved by its Board.
Mr. Attafuah until his appointment was the Managing Director of a Marketing research firm; Virtual Access. Mr. Attafuah mentioned that this vision will be supported by quickly improving infrastructure at the country’s airports.
The Ghana Airports Company is optimistic the completion of the new Terminal Three at Kotoka International Airport by 2018 would help improve traffic at the port.
The new terminal will comprise of five levels spread across a massive 45,000 msq area. It will feature six contact stands for Code E aircraft and two additional remote stands.
The terminal will have the capacity to process 1,250 passengers at peak hour and a large retail and commercial area.
